The Best Foundation for Winter Skin

Chanel's Vitalumière Foundation has been my saviour over thee past few weeks; I have combination skin & have really been struggling with winter skin around my nose and forehead.

Chanel's Vitalumière contains SPF 15, so you don't have to wear any underneath. I have dark skin anyway and don't burn in the sun so I usually skip SPF. Although it is handy that it's already in the formula. Although, thinking about now I think SPF is kind a standard across most foundations these days.

I think what makes this foundation so moisturising and great for winter skin is the hyaluronic acid that's in the formula. Hyaluronic acid has anti-aging benefits and is supposed to hydrate the skin and make it feel all fresh and smooth.

Vitalumière is definitely a medium coverage foundation. It's very moisturising and dewy which I love. These properties make it perfect for winter skin as the foundation doesn't accentuate your dry patches and actually moisturises them with hyaluronic acid, walnut extract and all that goodness.

Vitalumière retails at £37 from Selfridges for 30ml of product. I think it's worth every penny. I absolutely love the formula and don't have a foundation quite like it.

A lot of people have compared this with the Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation. I also love Bourjois and think their foundations are great, I loved how easy it was to find a colour match too. I don't think the healthy mix serum is a dupe though. Healthy mix is a lot lighter coverage wise and also the formula is a lot thicker and gel-like.

This foundation is definitely worth giving a try if you need a dewy, moisturising base!

Do you ever get winter skin? Would love to know how  you guys combat/avoid it?
