L'Oreal Miss Baby Roll Mascara - Indigo

Black mascara is great, but I'm just getting a little bored of standard black lashes. So I popped down to my local Superdrug & picked out L'Oreal's miss baby roll in the shade indigo gum which is a really pretty, dark blue shade. The miss baby roll range is also available in black, lilac and teal.

I curl my lashes first, then use the clear Collection colour lash mascara to prime my eye lashes. My lashes are black & naturally quite thick so priming them helps the blue from the baby roll mascara show up against my black lashes and look a lot more vivid.

The brush is amazing. The bristles go round the wand like a spiral staircase and the bristles vary in size too. This really makes a difference & helps coat all my lashes evenly and make them stand out more without looking like spider legs.

The mascara claims to 'curl, lashes for an instant lash lift'. I always curl my lashes before applying any mascara. I did the same for the miss baby roll mascara too and I found it actually dropped my curled lashes a little. However, it did lift my lashes from the root. I think with my lashes being quite thick anyway, and with the formula being quite wet; maybe the formula just added more weight? I don't know. I think it would be interesting to see if someone with finer haired lashes has the same problem.

Overall I think it's affordable at £8 as it's really good quality. The only downside for me was my curls dropping, this isn't a major issue for me. This is the first time I've ever tried a L'Oreal mascara, I am really impressed. I was a little skeptic at first and didn't think the blue would be as bright on my dark lashes but it is very pigmented and the lash primer really brings out the blue even more.

I'd definitely recommend the baby roll mascara in blue, especially if you're bored of basic, black mascara.
